We have had a fantastic time exploring Halloween at Toddletown! Festivals and celebrations give us an amazing opportunity to explore different cultures, experience new resources and food and use our imaginations for dressing up!
To explore Halloween this year, we used different types of squashes, including of course lots of pumkins! Using real resources gives the children the chance to explore different textures, sizes, colours - so much more fun and interesting than looking at a printed picture of a pumpkin!
Pumpkins also give us a chance for even more sensory play - the children loved exploring the pulp and seeds!
Our pre-school enjoyed using the pumpkins as a canvas as they drew faces.
Dress up day has been spooktacular; a battastic effort by everyone!
