We love finding out about different baby groups and activities in the local area and look forward to continuing some of the skills and experiences at our nursery in Godalming.
Have you tried any of these? We'd love to know what you think!
Baby Karma
Baby karma is a relaxed class for babies from 6 weeks up to crawling. It consists of reflexology, head massage, music and play activities, to introduce your baby to a whole new world of sensory. Lots of touch, calming techniques and sensory exploration.
This is a great bonding class for mother and baby, as well as a fantastic way to meet other like-minded mums with babies of a similar age.
Reflexology is said to be tremendously calming for babies as well as having significant effects on colicky or teething babies.
For more information on the class or how to book, have a look at their website.
Water Babies Godalming
You'll always remember your baby's first swimming experience - and the sense of achievement you'll feel at mastering the whole getting changed and baby into a swimming suit for the first time!!
There are a few different places that offer baby swim classes from a young age, one of them is the multi-award winning, Water Babies.
Your baby can start at Water babies from birth. They say that babies have incredible natural reflexes and familiarity with the water, Water Babies uses these things to develop water confidence and skills.
The class gives you and your little one some time to relax and bond with each other while experiencing something a bit different from other classes. Water Babies runs a class in Cranleigh, which is roughly a 15 minute drive from Godalming. I know swimming with a new baby can raise questions for a parent, but Water Babies cover a lot of these on their page.
From personal experience, my little one learned so much more than swimming with Water Babies. I was amazed at his ability to use the get down safely technique and we still sing the splish splash song at bathtime!
Mini Athletics
Mini athletics run classes for children aged 2-7. They run three different classes, so the children receive a session that is specifically catered for their age range. These classes are not only designed to get your little ones active, but to also build on their physical, cognitive and social skills, and of course are just great fun. This type of class is suitable for little ones that find sitting down for a length of time trying, as it involves active games with lots of running around.
The classes, for all ages, last for 45 minutes, have two coaches present and have a maximum of 12 children.
Mini athletics classes take place in Broadwater School, Summers Road, Godalming every Sunday. You can also book a free trial, so worth trying out to see if your child enjoys it.
