Have you read my last couple of blogs? I've been talking about sensory play; what it is, why it's important and examples of easy activities you can do at home. This week, I coulnd't resist some messier ideas!
There are many recipes that we will be exploring with the children at Toddletown Nursery and Preschool but here a couple of our my favourites for all ages...
· 5 cups sand
· 1 cup cornflour
· 1 cup of water with 1 spoonful of washing up liquid.
Mix the cornflour and sand together then add the liquids.
The mixture can easily be mould together better than using wet sand.
· A range of spices such as ginger, powdered garlic, cinnamon, mixed herbs
· Cinnamon sticks and other mark making tools
Pour the spices in to a tray.
Encourage your children to explore the smells hat are coming from the tray.
Using the mark making tools and their fingers, explore what they can mark in the mixture.
Enjoy!
